Drawing from 30 years experience as an actor and 10+ years experience as a teacher, I'll help you make grounded, imaginative, intelligent, choices in your acting work.
I believe acting is a process of reverse-engineering. We are given the words and must discover the life that generates them. I'll guide you through the process of reading and breaking down a script, understanding the story you're telling, and telling it with joy and clarity.
I'll provide a safe environment in which to make vibrant, risky choices that feel sustainable and repeatable. Together we will identify and quiet the inner critic and move toward a spirit of curiosity, discovery, and play.
Whether you're working on an audition or have booked a role in theater, film, or television that you would like to explore, I can guide you in that exploration and help you better understand the story you're telling and how best to serve it.

I know this because I have been doing it for almost 30 years. I've released two (about to be three) books of poetry, been published in a bunch of print and online journals, and have written plays and award-winning short films.
Wherever you are in your writing process and whatever you're writing, I can help. From proofreading to editing to talking through the shape and content of a project, I can provide fresh perspective and clarity. I can help you better see the forest for the trees and vice versa.
I've helped poets improve their poems, playwrights and screenwriters and novelists clarify and deepen their stories, and non-fiction writers better illuminate their ideas. If it's made of language, I can help it grow.
